You can’t open a newspaper, flip on the television, or open an Internet page these days without seeing something about the current economic crisis. When all the media trumpet the same tune, that’s supposed to indicate a trend reversal in the making. So does that mean we’ve hit bottom and things can only get better? Um… maybe not this time.

Employment websites generate hundreds of millions of page views every month from job seekers and employers. And employment-related searches are consistently among the most popular on Google, Yahoo! and MSN. (Especially these days, with layoffs happening in droves.)

The best way to create a steady source of income is to start a side business - one that could potentially be expanded into a full-time career. The good news is that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of small businesses that can be started on a part-time basis with little capital.

Why don’t these signs appear early enough for drivers to take action proactively, rather than having to slam on their brakes at the last minute? This same basic problem exists on many websites, and it could be hurting your online sales.

While it seems like a simple enough proposition, the fact is that choice can be a very complicated subject. I think most people believe “You are a victim of your own choices.”

Over the years, I’ve tried to teach lots of folks to write sales copy. Not all of them have gone on to be stellar successes. One of my most spectacular failures had a PhD in English Lit. Another was a crackerjack newspaper reporter. Still another had penned a bestseller and now wanted to try her hand at copywriting. All three of these people were great word-jugglers. But as direct-response copywriters, they were hopeless.
