On Tuesday morning when I arrived in the office, the news headlines read: “Swine flu causes a major sell-off on the Dow.” The first thing that came to my mind was: Why is this affecting the markets so much? And, more importantly, how can we profit from it.

Voting day has come and gone. And personally, I’m glad it’s over. Standing in a queue for three hours isn’t really how I planned to spend my public holiday! It was, however, all for a good cause so I hope you voted on Wednesday. It could change South Africa for the better.

Not too long ago, there was a power failure in Johannesburg, and this really ticked me off. Everything’s chaos when the power’s out. It reminded me how irritating the frequent power failures were last year.
