Dear friend,

If they’re not already in your kitchen, there are two ingredients I want you to add to your shopping list today.

Perhaps you can even add them into your dinner recipe for tonight?

Read on to discover why these two ingredients could help you prevent liver damage...

The common spice that could help prevent liver damage
By Andrew Miller - Natural health expert

Today, I want to tell you about two common ingredients that could offer protection against a disease that’s been linked to obesity and weight gain, as well as liver cancer and death. It could also protect your liver from oxidative stress...

Ingredient #1: Sprinkle on some turmeric

Use this spice, common in curry, and you’ll be getting a dose of curcumin. US research from Saint Louis University recently showed it could fight against non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), an increasingly common kind of fatty liver disease. That's the one that's been linked to obesity, liver cancer, as well as liver fibrosis and cirrhosis, and even death.

In the US, NASH affects 3% to 4% of adults. The Saint Louis study shows that curcumin could help prevent it – and possibly treat the damage of liver fibrosis.

So far, the study has only been in the lab and the researchers are looking to extend their research to animal and human studies.

Ingredient #2: Good old olive oil...

Research published in the journal Nutrition and Metabolism found that rats fed extra virgin olive oil were partially protected from oxidative stress damage to the liver.

It’s really no surprise – olive oil's high antioxidant content makes it a perfect fighter of oxidative damage.

Again, this wasn’t a human study, but the results were promising. You probably already know so many of the other health benefits offered by olive oil – and you might remember that turmeric has come up in our eletters before, thanks to research showing it can help ward off both Alzheimer's and colon cancer.

If you’ll excuse me, I'm off to scour my wife's cookbooks for a few new recipes!

In the name of happiness,
