Dear friend,

Did you know you have to consume 3,500 calories beyond your body's needs to gain half a kilo of fat?

Let me put that into perspective for you:

Breakfast:
2 Slices of white bread - toasted = 144 calories
Boiled egg = 152 calories
Orange juice = 50 calories
Total calories from breakfast = 346

Lunch:
Burger patty on a white roll = 620 calories
Fried Chips = 308 calories
Orange juice = 50 calories
Total calories from breakfast = 978

Supper:
Spaghetti Bolognaisse = 141 calories
Green salad = 114 calories
Glass of red wine = 120 calories
Ice-cream = 78 calories
Total calories from breakfast = 453

Total calories for the day = 1,777

I think you'll agree with me - this menu is far from lacking, wouldn't you say? Yet, it's only HALF the 3,500 calories you would have to eat - over and above your body's needs - to put on half a kilo.

Let me reiterate that one more time just to be clear. AFTER eating what your body needs to stay alive, you would have to consume an EXTRA 3,500 calories (double the amount of food in the menu above to put on half a kilo of fat.

Forgive me for going on like this, but, unless my math is wrong, we have to assume two out of every three people eat an inconceivable amount of food every single day.

I don't know anyone who eats that much.

So what else could cause masses of people being overweight?

-------------------------------------------------------------

This weight gain can occur suddenly and without warning...

It turns out that some people look five to 12 kilos heavier than they really are because they're carrying around an extra two to five kilos of water and have bloated bellies.

Fortunately, you can do something to diminish the appearance of this “fraudulent fat”. Best of all, you could do it in a short time!

Doctors Elson M. Haas, Rudy Rivera and Roger Deutsch put the reason for this down to metabolic disturbances. They say that consuming foods, colourings or additives that your body is sensitive to, can upset its “normal” metabolism and cause weight gain.

Food reactions cause inflammation that can change cell chemistry.

Calcium and sodium rush into the cells disrupting their power centre (known as the mitochondria) and attracting water. Consequently, you look fat and feel fatigued.

To get the full REAL story on why you may be overweight, and how to DEFLATE your body, I highly recommend the book New Weight Loss Solutions. It certainly opened my eyes to the reasons for my weight gain.

To your good health...
