Cut your recruitment costs by 45%
Dear Reader
Welcome to this week’s bulletin.
I got such a fright today! A meeting request landed in my inbox and I assumed my colleague had made a mistake – she couldn’t be arranging a meeting for April. But, yes indeed folks, the first quarter of 2009 is nearly over.
It led me to start thinking about what I’ve achieved so far this year. I’m pleased to say that I have one success that is sure to help you. I’ve been working on a new product that launched last week and I’m very proud of “my baby”. It will definitely save you time and money by slashing your recruitment costs by a huge 45% and helping to manage employee performance.
Do I have to pay sick leave on a religious holiday?
Leave is always a contentious issue and I get many questions about it...perhaps you’ve had the same issue as my subscriber below.
Question
A Muslim employee took sick leave for three days. One of the days fell on Eid, a Muslim holiday. Do I have to pay him sick leave for the Eid day too or can I allocate that day as a holiday and only pay two days’ sick leave?
Answer
You must treat all three days as paid sick leave. The Muslim holiday is not a statutory holiday so you can’t treat time off on that day as a public holiday.
Until next time...
