Dear Reader
I was doing some Web browsing the other day, looking for HR information and checking Twitter, when I came across the funniest article on AOL.com. I shared it with all my colleagues and the results ranged from complete hysteria to quiet giggles. Not one didn’t find it funny.
So what made me laugh so much? People, of course! These were actual comments made by candidates in job interviews:
1. Why should we hire you?
"I would be a great asset to the events team because I party all the time."
2. Do you have any questions?
"Cross dressing isn't a problem is it?"
3. Tell of a time you made a mistake and how you dealt with it
"I stole some equipment from my old job, and I had to pay for its replacement."
Have a look here to get the full list and brighten up your day.
Maybe you’ve interviewed or hired someone who acts completely inappropriately. Did you know how to manage the situation? Employee management is never going to be easy, but we’ve made it as straightforward as we can with the Practical Guide to Human Resources Management Handbook. Have a look here if you’re not already a subscriber.
Until next month...
