Is e@syFile as user-friendly as we’d like it to be?

I’ve been hearing quite a bit about the new SARS e@syFile software. It seems this new software isn’t as user-friendly as we’d all like it to be!

So here are some pointers that might make it a little easier to handle this new software.

1.    Create a backup of your existing e@syFile data

You have to do this before you can start doing anything else. Remember, if you don’t have these files backed-up and saved, when you update to the new software, it’ll overwrite the older data. You’ll lose all your records!

2.    Remove the older version of the software

To do this, you’ll go to your PC’s Control Panel, and to “Add or Remove Programs”. Find e@syFile, and remove it.

3.    Download the new version of e@syFile

Visit the SARS website (or the e@syFile website), to download it. Make sure you are downloading the version compatible with your computer’s operating system (i.e. Windows).

4.    Register

Once you’ve downloaded the new software successfully, you must put in your details (and those of your company’s) to register. You’ll have to create a user-name and password for the administrator, and the users.

Tip: Make two copies of the admin login and password, and keep one copy in the office safe. Give the other copy to the boss (or your most trusted colleague).

There are more tips where these came from

We’re putting together the May issue of Tax Watch, with plenty of extra tips and advice for using e@syFile. If you use the software, then this issue is a must-read!
