No one can deny the road to riches isn’t an easy one.

Full of perils, scams and heaven knows what else...

But a lot of the time we end up being our own worst enemies.

The problem is we want the money, the lifestyle, control over our own lives but we want it right away!

For a very few people financial success happens overnight usually because their numbers come up on the lottery or some relative snuffs it leaving them a mattress full of hundred rand notes.

But for the serious entrepreneur success takes a little longer.

Branson, Trump, any of the big names will say the same thing. More importantly though, they'll advise you that you must always stay positive and never lose faith in yourself.

I know that's easier said than done sometimes.

We can become disillusioned. We see a lot of people strutting about who are stinking rich, living the life of riley who don't deserve to be...

Our business ventures can suffer any number of set-backs that altogether making things seem impossible... some days it seems like it's never going to happen.

The hard truth is if you focus on what's wrong then you might as well give up.

But seeing as you're not prepared to do that, and I'm not going to let you, here are the tips that helped me keep going…

4 Techniques to keep the faith and make more money

- Remember the progress you've made so far. Signing up for this email... looking at some biz opp ideas in detail... choosing which one to pursue... it's all steps in the right direction. It's all stuff putting you ahead of the pack!

- Get yourself a personal mantra. Your very own slogan. My old man used to say 'the benefit of me doing nothing is nothing"... so I've got to do something.

Come up with your own mantra and repeat it everyday. It helps you stay focused and reminds you of your talents. Even something basic like 'I have faith in myself, I will succeed' works miracles.

- Learn to STOP yourself thinking in the future. I don't mean forget about the house, the car, the holidays, the lifestyle... all the great stuff coming your way, but I mean make sure you concentrate on what you need to be doing today.

Each time your mind starts worrying about the future say STOP loudly in your head. Bring yourself back to what's important here and now.

- Turn negative thoughts on their head – it’s a waste of your time and energy dwelling on the bad things. So each time you find yourself thinking negatively turn it around.

Say a meeting didn't go as well as you'd hoped you can either waste time annoyed with yourself or you can start planning what you're going to do differently in the next meeting to get the result you want.

Spend a bit of time practising these techniques.

I reckon you'll be amazed at how quickly you can train yourself to be more optimistic and positive... especially in situations you might not have been before.
