Dear reader
It’s the beginning of a new year and as with all new years there are some new changes as well.
Sadly, Jerry Botha, our editor of Simplify Your Tax will be pursuing new business opportunities this year and this month’s issue, which you should receive in the post this week, will be his last.
On behalf of everyone at Fleet Street Publications we’d like to wish Jerry all the best for his future endeavours.
But rest assured you’re in very capable hands and I’m delighted to introduce our new editor.
A warm welcome…
Jackie Arendse serves on the Board of the South African Institute of Tax Practitioners and Chairs their National Technical Committee. She is also a member of the Education Committee of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
She is a Visiting Associate Professor at Wits University and is currently in private practice specialising in tax training and consulting.
She was formerly the Project Director: Tax at the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), where her main responsibilities included managing relationships with key stakeholders (especially SARS and National Treasury), enhancing SAICA members’ tax competence and representing SAICA in discussions with Government (SARS, National Treasury and the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Finance) on all matters pertaining to tax legislation.
I can’t think of a better person to whom we could pass the baton.
Regards,
