When you look great, you feel amazing and your confidence shines through. So, here are some great grooming tips to help you - the busy, modern man - look great.

On shaving

1. Shower or bath before you shave. This softens your stubble. But if you don't have time for your usual shower, a warm cloth against your stubble will work just as well.

2. If you have a broad face make it appear slimmer by shaving a concave line upwards from under the chin.

3. Run out of foam? Use olive oil or (smooth) peanut butter instead. Just be sure to use aftershave to mask the smell of peanut butter!

On fashion

4. To look taller, wear a three-buttoned suit rather than the less modern two-button.

5. Be symmetrical. The width of your tie should echo the width of your lapels.

6. A good tie will last a maximum of five years. After five years get rid of it. They won't look impressive.

On grooming

7. The importance of a good haircut. Find a sympathetic and creative hairdresser. "Dress the part" when you cut your hair because this is how they'll interpret your image. Then, return every five to six weeks to keep trim and professional.

8. Do you sometimes wear glasses? If so, take them with you when you get your hair cut, just to make sure that the style suits your specs.

9. Busy lifestyles call for a tousled, less structured hair cut to reduce styling time in the mornings.

10. Look after your smile. Have a dentist professionally clean and check your teeth twice a year. This way you'll avoid gum disease and decay that could lead to bad breath, pain and dental surgery.
