Dear reader,

If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll notice we’ve already brought you one special offer this week. If your attention’s been otherwise engaged, let me explain...

CCMA-proof your business today

And how do we propose to do this? By giving you the chance to attend our interactive Labour Law Workshop in October. If you’re interested, but would like more information, write to TracyKing@fsp.co.za. But remember, seats are limited.

Labour Minister admits to departmental problems

And it’s for this reason that he’s appointed Jimmy Manyi as the Director General of the Department of Labour. The new DG has been very vocal in his support for the EE Act, and his criticism of employers who have failed to embrace the spirit of the affirmative action law.
When he was asked to make a statement regarding his new appointment, all he would say was, “I still need to familiarize myself with the office and know my way around. I think it is still premature to talk about any plans now.”

Mdladlana and Manyi have worked together for some time on Employment Equity so watch this space… I’m sure we’re going to be in for a real shake-up!

New updated summary of the Employment Equity Act wall chart!

The Employment Equity Act was updated on the 14th of July 2009. Get your updated Employment Equity Wall Chart Summary TODAY!

There are still many employers who aren’t displaying a summary of the EE Act or are displaying the old summary, which is now out of date. Don't get caught out by the Department of Labour: stay 100% compliant and order the NEW EEA act wall chart today. The EEA Act is a mandatory notice for all employers to display, no matter how many people you employ – 1 or 100!

I must warn you though: we just received notice that Post Office employees have resumed their strike action, although this time the strike’s unprotected. However, if you have ordered a new copy of our wall charts, please be patient. I’ve been waiting for a gift from my uncle in East London and he keeps phoning me to find out if I’ve received it yet. This strike may push him over the edge!

Yours sincerely,
