In the job market? Add a "P.S" to your application letter. Use it to highlight the key benefit for the employer when he recruits you.

The reason a "P.S" is so effective is, after reading your introduction, most recruiters go straight to the signature and the name to see who sent the letter to them. They won't be able to avoid a clear "P.S" with an irresistible promise...

Get your dream job - in just 15 seconds...

Your CV has to sell you and your skills faster than a TV advert. Most interviewers decide to chuck your CV or invite you to an interview within 15 seconds of opening your CV. So to the land the job, grab the person's attention straight away with these tips below...

Step # 1: Prove that you're right for the job. Tailor your CV to suit the advert you're replying to. Delete the qualifications and details that are not relevant to the job you're applying for. And flesh out the bits that are relevant. Don't make your CV longer than three pages.

Step # 2: Show the person how your skills will help him. Describe the skills and talents your achievements have taught you. Emphasise your suitability by repeating keywords appropriate for the job you're applying for. Quantify your achievements with numbers, volumes and values. For example, don't just say you created a website. Say you created a website that brought in R2 million in revenue.

Step # 3: Create an instant impact. Use action words to describe your achievements eg. "increased", "achieved", "succeeded"... Avoid words like "assisted", "aided" and "participated in". Instead use words like: "co-wrote", "co-designed", "as a member of the team...",

Step # 4: Let your talents shine through. Keep your CV simple and easy to look at. Use serif font, underline and bold keywords.
